INSEE data and Trendeo figures in the manufacturing industry, what report?

2017-09-29T15:40:42 + 02:00September 29th, 2017 am|Trendeo investment Observatory|

We published yesterday data that shows that in the manufacturing industry job creation exceeds removals: the net balance is therefore positive, even if it does not reach the level of sectors such as services. An article by BFM TV notes, however, that for INSEE, jobs in the industry remain negative. The remark deserves to be stopped if one wishes to evaluate the interest of the Trendeo data on the French economy. [...]

Economic downturn in September 2017, the recovery is also continuing in the industry

2017-09-29T14:17:50 + 02:00September 27th, 2017|situation|

Our customers have just received our last economic note. It shows that the recovery continues: the year 2017 should be the best since the setting up of our Observatory of employment and investment in France, in 2009. Industry and industrial production activities have gone into the Green and are creating more jobs than they are eliminating. In 2017, there were already 26 factories open more than there were closed (87 creations and 61 closures). This improvement, in the industry, comes mainly from the automobile. [...]

New factories in France? The Trendeo data for the second semester 2016

2017-06-21T07:50:36 + 02:00October 4th, 2016|Trendeo investment Observatory, day before|

For the past six months, the French economy has created more factories than it has destroyed. The information is reflected in the new economic note published by Trendeo. This note has been circulated to our subscribers, and some elements have been taken up by the press. Two articles in particular, one in the world (France ceases to lose its factories), the other in Les echoes (the French industry has put an end to the bleeding of the factories.) Another echo article takes back some of our data on the impact of the presidential on announcements of creations and job cuts. In view of the example of 2012, it is strong! Our note finally contains data on the fifteen French metropolises, classified according to criteria of job creation, number of startups and fundraising.

In a note prepared for the newspaper Les Echos and circulated to our subscribers, we analyzed the distribution of more than 1 400 startups detected by the Trendeo Observatory of employment and investment. Some results are expected, such as the good places of Paris, Lyon, Toulouse or Bordeaux in terms of number of startups as well as numbers of jobs in startups. More surprising, cities like Montpellier or Lannion appear well classified if one takes into account the size of their employment pool. 2016-11-04T12:38:53+01:00May 2nd, 2016|Mapping, situation, Trendeo investment Observatory, Startups|

The expansion of may 2016 dedicates an excellent dossier to the promises of the French tech. There are articles on the potential for job creation of French startups, an update on their relationship with major groups, fundraising 2015, the global battle for attracting these high-growth companies... Trendeo has had the opportunity and the pleasure to contribute to this dossier via an article by Stéphanie Benz, the digital to the help of employment. In particular, there is a map of the main areas of implementation of the French startups identified by Trendeo in 2014 and 2015.  In total, as the article recalls, Trendeo recorded 1 017 startups in this period, for a total of 18 635 jobs created. The Trendeo Observatory subscribers have access to the full list of these startups. The article lists the main job creators and positions them on a map of France.

Trendeo data on green investment in the Council of Ministers

2016-11-04T12:38:53+01:00May 2nd, 2016|situation, Sustainable development, Trendeo investment Observatory, Trendeo|

At the Council of Ministers on 6 April, the Minister for the environment, energy and the sea, Ségolène Royal, presented a communication on jobs for green growth, green technologies and positive energy territories. Much of the data presented came from the Trendeo employment and investment Observatory, which was requested by the Department's departments. The press kit mentions that the year 2015 was a year of recovery for green investments: "in 2015, the Green investments identified by Trendeo mark an increase in potential job creations of 72% compared to 2014. Since 2009, the different green, or sustainable, sectors have evolved considerably. The solar industry, which held the first place in 2009, was breathed up after the serious crisis crossed by the photovoltaic actors [...]. The recent doubling of the photovoltaic call for tenders by Ségolène Royal, however, should boost the sector sharply by generating 1 billion euros in investments and more than 5000 jobs. Since the announcements of the first tenders for offshore wind turbines in 2012, wind power is now the first ENR sector. " Just behind, in 2015, recycling and decontamination activities resulted in the creation of 1,200 net jobs. Methonization activities represent a steady stream of job creation. The electric vehicle represents a chain of [...]

The employment and investment balance in 2015

2016-11-04T12:38:54+01:00March 3rd, 2016|Not classified|

We have just distributed to our customers and to the press the balance sheet of employment and investment in 2015. Some elements have been taken up and disseminated, in particular by echoes: our analyses show that the data collected by our Observatory of employment and investment reflect the major trends, sectoral and geographical, to work in the French economy. The Observatory therefore allows any organisation wishing to give itself the means to analyse, in real time, the trends of employment and investment, classified by sector, territory or company. In the introduction to our balance sheet 2015, we write in particular that: job creation announcements increase by 30% compared to 2014. This marks the end of a continuing downward trend in job creation, which we have been finding since 2010. So far the improvement in the net balance of jobs created and eliminated came entirely from the decline in job losses. This was a more resilient economy than growth. In 2015, the advertised job creation was finally on the rise, whether or not the public sector and government announcements were taken into account. Job-deletion announcements were reduced by 16%, as in 2014. This is a trend that was only interrupted in 2012. It is in industrial activities that the reduction is the [...]

Three Trendeo indicators in green for the end of the year 2015

2016-11-04T12:38:54+01:00November 3, 2015 pm|situation, Trendeo investment Observatory, Trendeo|

For the newspaper l'Expansion, we updated three indicators of the State of the French economy at the end of 2015, all three in improvement compared to the previous year: the net balance of jobs created and eliminated improves. Without reaching the 2010/2011 levels, net job creations finally rise above zero; Compared to the third quarter 2014, there are more advertised plant openings (37 versus 33), and fewer closures (39 versus 45). The balance remains slightly negative but is undoubtedly improving; The raising of funds increased in number and amount, with 144 raising of funds identified for an amount of 1.1 billion euros, against 96 fundraising and 475 M € in the third quarter 2014. The newspaper published this data in the infographic reproduced below:

We have just distributed to our subscribers and to the press our analysis of employment and investment in the first half of 2015. The echoes and the world have reported it (read the articles referenced on our press page). The fact is that the economy is definitely improving. However, this is not enough to recreate jobs, especially in the industry. We have highlighted a few small-scale sectors that carry jobs, including in the industry (drones, LEDs, 3D printing, robotics...)

Relocations in the world: a phenomenon still very marginal

2017-03-31T17:51:55 + 02:00September 10th, 2015 am|situation, Trendeo investment Observatory, Trendeo|

Le Monde publishes an article by Denis Cosnard devoted to relocations ("made in France": the balance sheet of relocations Terni by the Loiselet fiasco).  The data provided by Trendeo confirms the general tone of the article: relocations remain a marginal phenomenon. The Foundation of the production in France is not useless. But the reality of the figures shows that the attractiveness of the site France depends on parameters of long terms: cost of energy, salaries, training... An excerpt from the article: "in fact, the leak of the factories began to calm down. In 2009, at the height of the crisis, more than 12 000 jobs had been eliminated in France as part of a transfer abroad, according to the scores of the Cabinet Trendeo. This represented more than 6% of the striped positions on the map. Since then, this rate has fallen back to around 2.5% to 3%, and only 1 350 relocated jobs have been identified by Trendeo during the first eight months of the year. "For 15 relocated jobs, there is an average of only one relocated position" David Cousquer, Manager of Trendeo but if they relocate less, the Tricolor companies return to France in a very timid way. Since January 2009, fewer than 2000 jobs have been repatriated... 0.2% of the jobs created by Trendeo. "For 15 jobs relocated, [...]

ETI regain morale

2017-03-31T17:47:25 + 02:00June 26th, 2015|Trendeo investment Observatory|

This is the title of an article of echoes published today, written by Julie Chauveau.  The article relies on a study by the BPI which shows an increase in order books. The article also mentions data provided by Trendeo: "on the ground, the company Trendeo, which scrutinises all the announcements made public by the companies and conducts analyses for the METI (ex-Asmep ETI), calculated in its Observatory of the investment that the ETI has created almost 3,000 net jobs since April 1, "while large groups have eliminated just over 6,000 in net," says David Cousquer. Also in the first quarter, the net balance was positive over 2,600 between creations and job destructions. And to quote the Group alalsace punch, which intends to double its production of gearboxes, or an engineering group Lyon eras, which announced the recruitment of 80 people. " In fact, the net balance of jobs created and eliminated by the ETI doubled between the first half of 2015 and the first half of 2014, from 3 128 net jobs to 6 866 net jobs. In the recovery phase, the ETI are quicker to recreate jobs than large groups, as we noted in a recent note published by METI.

The effects of the new regional cutting

2016-11-04T12:38:54+01:00March 9th, 2015|situation, Trendeo investment Observatory, Territories|

Since January 2009, the employment and investment Observatory of Trendeo has been identifying advertisements for creations and job losses in all sectors of the French economy. We have just distributed to our customers a note on the economic situation of the French economy at the beginning of the year 2015. The press has taken up a few elements, including our analysis of the consequences of the new regional division on the dynamism of the different regions. You will find in attachment an article of echoes, including beautiful maps with the new regional decoupages. The Tribune also published an article highlighting other data. This year, we propose to the organizations that wish it a presentation in two hours of this economic note (two to three hours, with questions/answers), provided by David Cousquer, creator and Manager of Trendeo. We are convinced that, in the context of the forthcoming merger of regions, the Trendeo Observatory on employment and investment offers a unique opportunity to establish immediately a common tool for analysing and positioning Territories.

Employment and investment in October, an endless recovery

2016-11-04T12:38:54+01:00October 20th 2014|situation, Trendeo investment Observatory, Territories, day before|

The employment does not go away enough and the slight improvement found is fragile. Since the end of 2012, no quarter has ended, in our Observatory, with a positive balance of creations and job losses. The year 2014 is likely to be as bad as 2013 for jobs, insufficient to reduce unemployment. This note presents five strengths at the beginning of the last quarter 2014:1. overall employment is still depressed. At the end of the year, the increased cuts in the public sector cancel out the very shy recovery of private sector activity; 2. the manufacturing industry is pursuing a very slow improvement. The rate of replacement of plants that closes by new factories, is straightened; 3. for the second consecutive quarter, trade loses jobs, net. It is the result of a heavy trend that is all the more damaging, that the sector was thus far our first sector in terms of job creation; 4. midsize firms continue to create jobs, while large groups remove 5. For the first year, Trendeo follows the fundraising and identifies the startups in a specific way. The distribution of startups by sector shows the paramount position of the software. Geographically, it is in île-de-France that these companies emerge. In 2014, startups accounted for 5.5% of private job creation. All these points show [...]
