Par exemple, pour étudier le site internet d’une société russe, qui comprend cette phrase :

« На динамично развивающемся автомобильном рынке России сохраняется высокий спрос на автомобили LADA. »

La traduction Google du Russe vers l’anglais donnera ceci :

« At a dynamically evolving market road Russia remains a strong demand for cars LADA.« 

Pour cet exemple, j’ai copié/collé une phrase, mais on peut également traduire l’intégralité d’une page internet, c’est à peine un peu plus long. Par exemple, pour traduire la page d’accueil de la Maison Blanche en français.

Il y a quelques imperfections, comme le montre l’extrait ci-dessous :

Apparemment Google ne fait pas encore la différence entre la Dinde (Turkey) et le pays (Turquie). Une case permet cependant de proposer une meilleure traduction.

Autre problème rencontré éventuellement, les textes intégrés dans des images ne sont pas traduits, comme par exemple sur le site de Lada :

Toutes les paires de langues ne sont pas disponibles : pas de traduction directe du russe vers le français par exemple. On ne trouvera pas non plus de traduction dans des langues scandinaves, pour l’instant. Mais pour le chinois, le japonais, le russe ou l’arabe, c’est assez performant, si l’on accepte ces quelques limitations.

Pour finir, un dernier exemple de traduction de l’arabe en anglais, pris sur le site de l’Agence Jordanienne de promotion des investissements, le Jordan Investment board :

L’exemple est parlant. On peut, grâce à cet outil, si l’on accepte un résultat en anglais, comprendre 70% à 80% d’un texte rédigé dans une langue de départ totalement inconnue.
